Paul Fletcher is a payments specialist and heads up payments for the Co-op. In his role, Paul was the first merchant in the UK to integrate Chip & Pin and the first to integrate Contactless in November 2011 at the request of Visa and Mastercard to help support the 2012 London Olympics. Uniquely in the UK, Paul’s team also develops their full EPOS stack in-house ( 3,000 stores and 13,000 POS ), which enables them to innovate quickly with products like the Co-op’s Pay in Aisle app, which was launched March 2018 and received a great deal of positive media coverage.
