In this briefing, we’ll discuss the overall state of security of the merchant / retail industry, describing the trends Coalfire saw in 2017 and the rationale behind the findings and trends (a preview of our soon-to-be-released research paper).  We’ll delve into topics including what the recent changes and “suggestions” the PCI council has published has done to improve security (and what it hasn’t done!) as well as providing insights into what threats we see most frequently in the field.  We’ll end with a summary of where we see the program going in the future and what changes companies should be prepared for.
